My Skin Care Routine
Hello beautiful people!
Today I am going to write about my skin routine. I have experimented for so long to find the perfect prodcuts to balance my combination skin. My t-zone area gets oily quite quickly and the side of my nostrils and chin gets dry and flakey. So ofcourse this makes it difficult when buying foundations. In the past my foundation has looked shiny in some area and cakey in others due to my weird skin. But thankfully no more! Thanks so some amazing Lush products.
Ofcourse the first rule is to NEVER sleep with your make up on. Ofcourse we are all guilty of this every now and then but try to avoid this as much as possible. I believe my bad habit of this has left me with the problems I have described above. Sleeping with make up on clogs your pores and can make them appear larger. If you sleep with make up on a regular basis and for a pro longed period of time, it can have a negative impact on your complexion. Sleeping with foundation on basically suffocates your skin, your skin is unable to renew itself which can lead to spots and discolouration. Try and think of it this way; you fall asleep with make up on, you wake up and wash it off and then put your face back on for the day. Your skin is not getting the break and air it needs to stay healthy.
So here is my night time skin routine which takes under 5 minutes!
Step 1. Clear off as much make up as possible with a make up wipe. Be gentle when removing your eye make up.

Step 2. Splash your face with warm water and apply Lush Ocean Salt to exfoliate your skin and remove those flakes and any excess foundation. What's great is that this is packed full of (you guessed it) sea salt which is packed full of minerals. This also contains avacado butter which hydrates your skin from a hard days work. And what I adore about this is the lime juice which makes my skin feels as fresh as a daisy! You can also use this as a body scrub (wee tip, use before shaving those pins!)

Step 3. Cleanse! I use 9to5. You don't need much at all of this to reap it's full effects. Wipe this over your face and either use a damp flannel or cotton wool to wipe the excess off. This will leave your skin soft and hydrated because of the almond oil and ylang ylang oil. This cleanser will remove all traces of dirt and can also be used as a make up remover.

Step 4. Tone.
I use Eau Roma water (right) in the colder months as this calms and hydrates your skin from those cold wintery winds. This will reduce redness and the added lavender is perfect to relax you for a good night sleep. Tea Tree water (left) I prefer to use in the summer as its very refreshing. The added Juniper berries helps to balance your skin. How to use; spray directly on to your skin and wipe with cotton wool. Or spray directly on to a cotton wipe and apply that way. These sprays will remove the excess cleanser, oils and dirt left behind.

Once a week I use a face mask. My personal favourite is Mask of Magnaminty. As the name states this smells of beautiful mint! When applied my skin feels nice ad icy and then slowly my skin heats up. Very relaxing for a pamper night. This mask exfoliates and nourishes your skin and leaves it soft and feeling fresh.

After following my routine religiously my skin looks bright and clear in the mornings and I have even left out my foundation routine because my skin looks so clear and balanced.
P.S Arn't my dinosaurs amazing!? Gotta love dinos :)
